Carter’s 26 Helps Magic Trump Celtics 83-78 In Boston

“Carter’s 26 Gives Orlando A Huge Road Win In Boston”

Vin-Sanity- Vince Carter had a game high 26 points on 10-29 shooting to lead the Magic past the Celtics Friday night in Boston. The Celtics had no answer for Carter who scored at will down the stretch. The Magic improved to 10-3 on the season while the Celtics lost their 3rd game out of their last 4.

Tough Night For Sheed- Celtics 6th man Rasheed Wallace struggled again from the field tonight by shooting just 4 of 16. Wallace was 0 for 8 from behind the arc and people have to be wondering if he is taking way to many three’s. I know that when the Celtics were winning it wasn’t a problem but now having lost 3 of 4 Doc River’s and the guys need to look for ways to improve and cutting down on Rasheed’s bombs could be a great starting point.

“No Room For Panic”

Well ladies and gentlemen, it is official the Boston Celtics are in a slump. The Celtics just lost their 3rd game out of their last 4 and more importantly they were held under 80 points for the first time this season. The Celtics seem to be living and dying by the 3 in the early going and when you play that style and the 3’s don’t fall you are in for a tough night. Tonight the Celtics were just 2 of 19 from three point range and Rasheed Wallace alone was 0 for 8. I think the Celtics need to get back to playing a team oriented game where they try and find the open man on every play. I don’t understand why Shelden Williams only played 8 minutes tonight when he is clearly and fire starter off the bench. I have to give Kendrick Perkins credit as he once again did a good job against Dwight Howard keeping Howard to just 9 points. Howard did have 15 rebounds but it is almost impossible to keep Howard off the boards as he is the best rebounder in the league. The Celtics were in this game right down to the end it is just that they couldn’t hit the big shot when they needed it. When you shoot 34 percent as a team it is very difficult to beat anyone especially a team as good as Orlando. Paul Pierce lead the C’s with 21 points on 7 of 19 shooting but like his fellow teammates he had an off night. The time for panic is certainly no where near this team as they seem to be locked in with their eyes set on the big prize. That being said, every team is going to struggle from time to time and the Celtics may be hitting their bump in the road. They will get back to work Sunday afternoon in New York for a battle with the Knicks. This is a tough loss especially because we owe Orlando a beating for last year’s playoff loss but the Celtics are fine and I expect them to get back to their winning ways Sunday in Manhattan.
